Vedantaquest - In Quest Of Truth

Know thy Self - the Perceiver

myself - dr. narendra tuli

I am a 48 yrs. old medical doctor from N.Delhi, India. After passing my senior school with 94% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Math, I joined a medical school in N.Delhi and completed my MBBS in 1983. In 1987 I did my post-graduation in ENT with top ranking from Delhi University.

I am driven by a passion of finding the answers to some of the most fundamental questions regarding the ‘perceiver’ (the subject), ‘the entity perceived’ (the object) and the process of ‘perception’. The true nature of the ‘subject’ as well as the ‘object’ needs to be well understood in order to solve not only the mystery of this unfathomable expanse of Space, Time and Matter, but also to understand the purpose of one’s own existence, and thereby attain complete fulfillment.

The urge to find these answers took me initially to the frontiers of Modern Science, of which I am an ardent student. The Scientists have worked whole-heartedly towards revealing the secrets of ‘the object’ and the ‘process of perception’. The exposition of the atomic structure of Matter, the discovery of the DNA, the identification of various fundamental forces that go about weaving the web of this infinite expanse of Space and Matter, have all contributed tremendously to our understanding of the nature of the ‘object’ and the process of ‘perception’.

However, the nature of the ‘subject’ (perceiver) remains to be comprehended in order to arrive at the complete solution of the mystery of existence. The search for this took me to the frontiers of Indian Philosophy. For more than a decade I studied the Upanishads under the guidance of my Guru H.H. Swami Vidyananda Giri Ji Maharaj. This was not only a fulfilling experience, but it also opened up an entirely new dimension of visualizing the triad of the subject, object and the process of perception. I discovered that the principles of ‘Modern Science’ and those of the ‘Scriptural Philosophy’ were not mutually contradictory, but were rather complementary to each other.

My quest for Truth has made me richer in my ‘empirical’ and ‘transcendental’ experiences. It has not only given me the complete solution to the mystery of existence, but has also opened the doors of my mind to universal brother-hood, compassion and mutual respect for all beings that inhabit and share this beautiful planet - the Earth.

I pray to the Almighty for the well-being of All.
